The patron saint festival of the Mare de Déu de la Salut or els Missatges takes place on 8 September. Many of the farming tasks, like reaping, threshing and collecting figs, traditionally came to an end at this time of the year and it was the beginning of a new agricultural year. A few days before the festival, the "bandera que fa fideus" (flag) was hoisted over the main gate of the church. It indicated the start of the festival and the people exclaimed:
¡Ai ja ve la Mare de Déu
i noltros volem ballar
i també volem menjar
un tassonet d´igua amb neu!
The festival of Sant Antoni with the blessings and bonfire grills and the festival of l´Encontre del Bon Jesús on Easter Sunday are two important events. The festivals are linked with pork and lamb meat respectively, which are an essential element of the local gastronomy.
A weekly market is held on Friday with farm products and merchants in plaça des Pou. The market was held previously in plaça de Dalt.
In the past years, Es Pla flea market is held on the last Sunday of September with great participation from the locals and people from all over Mallorca. The town centre is full of stands selling a variety of items and local products and demonstrating their trades.
Since 2005, four night fairs are held on Fridays in August. They are devoted to traditional trades. In the fairs you can remember and learn more about how our grandparents made things. Each fair focuses on a different subject.
També desde l'any 2005 es celebren durant els divendres del més d'agost 4 fires nocturnes dedicades als oficis tradicionals, a on podem aprendre o recordar com feien les coses els nostres padrins. Cada divendres hi trovarem una temàtica diferent.
